Hi everyone, meet the Beauty Queen produced by our Province Nueva Vizcaya,Philippines.

Our province is not that popular in the Philippines, sometimes they mistake it as Nueva Ecija. But I'm happy that our Province already has a Miss Universe Philippines

PHILIPPINE FIRST PHILIPPINE BEAUTY TO BECOME FINALIST IN THE INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT.

She joined the movies until she married a pilot who died in a plane crash. She's based in the United States.

"my granda mentioned to me that lalaine is her schoolmate during their high school days and indeed she was so beautiful according to my grandma...shes a half american..and their house before is near in our university right now though i dont know the exact place....."

im very proud for our province and hoping to see next beauty queen produced by my hometown again

This was her speech in one of her functions. The event was not named. Based on the speech, I guess it was after her victory and she is most probably 1/4 American supposing her three other granparents are pure.

Lalaine Betea Bennett, the fresh doll faced Miss Philippines of 1963 won the hearts of the Filipino people when she made them experience the first taste of success in an international pageant with her 3rd Runner-up finish at Miss Universe. She made her mark in the pageant when she delivered her speech in her native tongue instead of in English. -WikiPilipinas

Yeah and I am proud because shes not just from our province but she's from our own town Bayombong.

Lalaine Betia Bennett was Miss Bayombong (Nueva Vizcaya) and runner-up (Miss Luzon) to Cynthia Ugalde in 1962 before being crowned Miss Philippines on June 9, 1963 at the Philamlife Auditorium. She was also in show business at that time, under contract to a major Philippine movie company, now defunct. Her winning the Miss Philippines title took her to the Miss Universe Beauty Contest that was held in Miami Beach, Florida on July 20, 1963 where she placed 4th among 49 other beautiful international contestants. After the contest, Lalaine's movie career soared but was cut short when she married a dashing United Stated naval officer of Polish Filipino descent whom she met while being her official escort at the Miss Universe contest. They settled down in Honolulu, Hawaii before moving to Seattle, Washington. Tragedy striked when during christmas of 1973, her husband was killed in a plane crash. In 1980, Lalaine got married again. Lalaine and her family still live in Seattle where she is still active in Filipino community affairs.
