This photo was published on 20^th July, one day after the final night. After hours of hesitation on the part of the judges, Gladys Zender, Miss Peru, who almost lost her crown due to (alleged) lack of age, was proclaimed Miss Universe 1957, and poses, happily, with the scepter and the crown of Queen of Beauty.
