Miss Wales is an annual beauty pageant held in Wales, United Kingdom to select a representative to the Miss World contest. In 1961 Rosemarie Frankland became the first Welsh woman to win Miss United Kingdom. In the same year she became the first British woman to capture the Miss World crown.

1974's winner Helen Morgan went on to win the Miss United Kingdom and Miss World titles, but was dethroned as the latter only four days after her victory, when it was discovered that she was an unmarried mother (and thus ineligible).

Wales has been taking part in the Miss World pageant directly ever since 1999, when the four constituent countries of United Kingdom were asked to send their own representatives to the contest. In 2004, Welsh Amy Guy became the only British woman to be named as one of the 15 semifinalists, after winning the fast track event Sports Competition. So far she is the only contestant under the Miss Wales banner to advance to the semifinals.

Sian Adey-Jones (born December 1957, Bodfari, Denbighshire, Wales) is a former glamour model. She won the Miss Wales title in 1976 and was runner-up in Miss World in the same year.[1] Her reputation for being a fiery character was enhanced by an incident when she allegedly kneed a policeman in the groin. This was reported in the Daily Mirror.

She subsequently turned to topless modelling, regularly appearing as a Page 3 girl in The Sun newspaper. She also appeared as a Bond girl in the 1985 movie A View To A Kill. She now lives on the island of Ibiza with her Italian husband Rocco. She has a son Dylan and adopted daughter Tallulah

Kim Ashfield (born January 5, 1959; Wales) is a former model who was Miss United Kingdom in 1980 and represented Wales at Miss Universe 1980. She placed as the 4th runner-up in the Miss World 1980 pageant.

Imogen Mary Thomas[1] (born 27 November 1982) is a bar hostess and former beauty queen from Llanelli, South Wales, although she was residing in London before her entry into the house. She has a degree in Psychology and a degree in Health Studies from the University of Worcester and was crowned Miss Wales in 2003, beating future Big Brother 9 winner Rachel Rice who came third.

Kelly-Louise Pesticcio (born 1984 in Cardiff, is a beauty queen who represented Wales in Miss World 2007 in China. She is now in her final year of medical school and she aims to become an orthopaedic paediatric surgeon.

Chloe-Beth Morgan is a beauty queen who is representing Wales in Miss World 2008 in South Africa. She has a National Diploma with a distinction in Musical Theatre, and qualified as a Fitness Instructor. She is currently working in a fashion store.
