The European Broadcasting Union and the National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU) has revealed that the city chosen to host the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest in 2017 will be Kyiv! The city fought off strong competition from Odesa and Dnipro to host the Eurovision Song Contest following Jamala’s win in Sweden this year with her song 1944.

The city plans to host the 2017 contest at the International Exhibition Centre, the largest venue of its kind in Ukraine with capacity for 11,000 spectators. The Ukrainian capital previously hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 as well as the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 and 2013.

The live shows will take place on Tuesday 9th May (First Semi-Final), Thursday 11th May (Second Semi-Final), with the Grand Final on Saturday 13th May.

So the mafia mayor won after all! The venue looks dated...I don't expect much from them anyway, the previous competition they organised in 2005 was on of the worst in ESC history! I hope next year we will get an amazing winner and an exciting host city! Rome, London, Barcelona,...so many choices and now we are stuck with kiev Evil or Very Mad

The whole "Battle of the cities" thing was senseless... I'm afraid that it will be not well organised as well. At least Kiev is a beautiful city and I'm glad that we finally know the venue.

2004 was an amazing year! Of course Zeliko deserved the first place, his song defined the Ethnic sounds in ESC and show us that there are more to the contest than cute girls in short skirts and graphics!! In 2004 this song from Turkey was direct in the final...what if it was in the semi???? 12 years later I am still crazy for this song!!!!!!!!!!!

...and don't get me started with the nazi anthem this year --100t3--

For Real is my fav Turkish entry as well! Too bad they don't want to participate anymore.

In 2008 I wanted Armenia to win I love you

2011 was a hot mess, I still don't know who should have won, I would be happy with Loukas, Dino Merlin or Kati Wolf. Azers were just lucky IMO.

Natalia seems like a good choice! I believe that in ESC every country has it's time, for Greece it was 2001-2008! I don't know if it's written on the stars or something but there are moments where countries are attracting victory and they just have to find the right song/singer!
I strongly believe it's Poland's time so...do your best this year!

I don't think that this year will manipulate the result in such an extent... again! They will keep it low key for a couple of years...
