Raquel was really one of the best. She is at the samùe time very fresh, sexy and exotic. Iris thought that it will be her Miss Universe. When, they were waiting the final results Iris said to her that she will be the winner and Raquel said no that it will be Iris the winner, they were great friend. Iris said that she was one of her best friends during the Miss Universe pageants.

i'm very happy for Haiti, it's a beautifull country who deserved berrter things really.

Haití, Haití!!!
A country that shares one part of it with the Dominican Republic, one island, 2 countries.
The HISPANIOLA ISLAND

Haití's native language is French, and they also speaks the Creole dialect, this country made history by placing for the 1st time in MU 1962 with Evelyn Miot, being the 1st black woman that made it into the semifinalists.
Then they made the cut again in 1975 ending up as VIRREINA (1st runner-up) with Gerthie David, then they had to wait 42 years to make the cut again, and surprisely again as VIRREINA (1st runner-up) with Raquel Pélissier.
Gerthie was the 2nd black woman after her countrywoman Evelyn, that made the cut into the semifinalists.

Both Gerthie & Raquel were the 1st ru of 2 europeans, Finland & France. Very Happy

Ms. Gerthie David still lives in Haití, she is now in her 60's, and of course she was in the home welcoming of Raquel.
