Miss World contestants let their hair down and danced in the streets of Soweto after visiting some of our local heritage sites.

112 Contestants from all over the world have gathered in Johannesburg for the 58th Miss World Festival which is being held at the Sandton Convention Centre on December 13.

Included in their action packed itinerary was a visit to the Hector Pieterson Museum in Orlando West, Soweto.





The current Miss World 2007, Zhang Zil in, lay flowers on the memorial dedicated to memory of 13-year-old Hector Pieterson who was killed during the 1976 Student Uprising in Soweto. A moment of silence was called for amongst the ladies in honour of the event.
