I think all Filipinos accepted Miriam's placement. It's just that Miss Universe is so inconsistent on the selection of the winner (e.g. 1995 and 1998). If they did that on some occasions, why not in 1999? Besides, it's a beauty pageant. They could have also chosen Miss Spain over Mpule.

I always had a passion for the Philippines. Especially for Miriam and Precious Lara. THAT is what I call shiningly beautiful :-)

its all about the judges i guess.... but in 99, mpule was the only girl whose answer was of "winner" type. My opinion. bounce
