kk... generally most pinoys say this too... many pinoys became pageant-fans from MU94 in Manila which she won...

I WAS ABOUT 12 AND IT WAS THE TIME I FIRST HAD AN INTEREST IN AN INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT AS REA TOUTOUNZI WAS COMPETING...UNFORTUNATELY I LOST THE CROWNING PART AS IT WAS ABOUT 00:30 AND MY MOM WAS SCREAMING I HAD TO GO TO BED. Laughing

i remember watching her picture in newspaper... i was just 8... but i still remember how i found sushmita plain then Twisted Evil

but whenever i see her crowning moment clips now, i feel great... she is one gem from india. Smile

THIS BRINGS BACK A NICE MEMORY FROM SCHOOL WHEN WE HAD AN ESSAY ON ENGLISH TO WRITE ABOUT A PERSON WE ADMIRE. I HAD LITTLE TIME SO I DID THE ESSAY ON A BREAK BETWEEN CLASSES TALKING ABOUT ADMIRING ALICIA MACHADO MU 1996 WRITING ALL KINDS OF "MAMBO JAMBO" AND TOO MUCH CRAP ABOUT CHARITIES ALL OVER THE WORLD AND VOLUNTERR WORK. A FRIEND ASKED IF HE CAN COPY SOME PARTS OF THE ESSAY AND SAID OK..............THE OUTCOME WAS 22 OUT OF 30 STUDENTS OF THE CLASS ENDING UP WITH ESSAYS ADMIRING ALICIA MACHADO. ...WE ALL GOT THOUWN OUT OF THE CLASS AND SENT HOME... :-334-: :-334-: :-334-: :-334-: :-334-: :-334-: :-334-: :-42r2-: :-42r2-:

And about Sushmita - now I like her, but not during the pageant. I was sad when she won, for me Slovakia was the ONE.

i m glad she won. if she had not won, how would we have known such a brilliant personality? i truly adore her... i have this theory that beautiful girls can be found in fashion shows and movies... but finding a beauty with great personality and intellegence is rare... thats y miss universe shows of 90s rocked!!! i think that trend should be back!

She was so fluent in English at 18. She had not studied English until she was 16, since she was in a Hindi-medium school. Can you believe it????

Nice to see that MUO website was well-updated even then. its one of the reasons why MU rocks over other pageants!
