I sometimes think Brazil doesnt utilize the black stunners as it should...more over last years black contestants were few in its nationals. Nevertheless, there is always time and good will for a change. Brazil should have been a Powerhouse by now imo,it has all needed, diversity for starters.

I do not know that I should be very prejudice of sending a black representative in international competitions. Isabel is absolutely crazy to compete in Miss Universe. She always participated in competitions in Rio de Janeiro it always lost. Now she searches for other states to accept it. Hope to see you next year in Brazil.

PHEW!!!! .....that's GREAT NEWS....but seriously 'dayana' and 'tuc' you think the reason for her losing competitions in Brazil has to do with racism?????.....a country like Brazil shouldn't be suffering from that epidemic (although the USA still has pockets of it...so it is highly possible for Brazil) and if they still are that's quite sad....especially for this time period.....I hope the pageant organizers see the value in Isa cause she is CRAZY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

I think so, Brazil is a country full of black beauties never choose anyone else because you think they should have no chance to be in top international competitions. for example if the people of the org. the Miss Brazil saw the candidates well, let's just be repairing the BODY and come to see the set we would have been top in the Miss Universe every year. The Brazil has SEVERAL DISPERDICIUS black beauties, I have lost the hopes with the misses of my country is so depressing, I will show the black divas who tried to go to Miss Brazil and loser.!!!!
IN 2006 - VANESSA DE JESUS FOR ME IS AMAZING GIRL THE FANTASTIC BODY AND FACE . I THINK SHE WOULD DO BETTER THAN RAFAELLA ZANELLA . SHE STOPED IN TOP 10 IN MISS BRAZIL AND LOSER MISS BRASIL WORLD.
SOMETHING THAT FEW PEOPLE KNOW IS THAT NANCY RANDALL is BRAZILIAN, LOST IN MISS RIO DE JANEIRO BRAZIL AND WAS TO REPRESENT THE UNITED STATES IN THE MISS WORLD IN 2004 AND WAS IN THIRD PLACE.

Re: Isabel Correa - a historical Brazilian contestant
yes i think it has everything to do with racism because brazil is a very racist country still. they even have black people claiming other ethnicities like white in the census becaus eblack is looked upon as low. i love vanessa de jesus and she should have won her yr shes has such a pretty face and body. isabel should ahve been miss brazil world last yr. brazil loves to look at the typical portuguese looking woman as beautiful thats why the vast majority of their models and beauty queens all look alike. the black models are slowly breaking into the industry in modeling so hopefully they will start winning miss brazil soon.

Oh Wow.....that's right 'Dayana M'....Nancy Randall is Brazilian and look how well she did for the USA at Miss World....what a beauty!....and I do agree with Vanessa de Jesus....AMAZING GIRL!!! Beautiful face, skin and body....SAME WITH ISA!!!! who is just flawless looking Face, Hair, Skin and Body......It's sad to see that Brazil is still suffering from Racism.....I love the multi-ethnic beauties that you all produce as models like, Giselle, Alessandra, Gracie, Emanuella, Adriana, Izabel, Ana Beatriz, Aline Nakashima....just to name a few!!!....It would also be nice to see this amount of diversity among your beauty pageant winners!!!

A historical case of favouritism
In Brazil is the recycling of misses is very common. But... there are no the "misses schools" like in Venezuela, for example. So, the girls only go back, because the have the support ff the fans (or fanatics), friends and families, and because they have a dream, and not because they really make a preparation for be better next time.
A lot of girls make this 3, 4 times or more. In the most cases, I agree with Donald Trump: "maybe this (be a winner) is not for this girl" (when someone asked him why girls who come from good positions no MW do not win the MU - or the contrary).
And I think Izabel is this kind of case. Her fanatics support her. She recently lost the Miss Brazil World title - and not placed in the final top - and the fans are already saying: "go back, Izabel". Why?
She participated in Brazil's Next Top Model - did not win.
She participated in Best Model of the World - did not win.
She participated in Miss Brazil Univ (state Rio de Janeiro) 2008 and 2012 - did not win.
She participated in Miss Brazil World in 2009 and 2014 - did not win.
So, for me this a historical Brazilian case when the fans expect so much - OR TOO MUCH - of a girl who never proved her favouritism.

Isabel is back
Only a few hours after my post and only 5 days after lost the Miss Brazil World, Isabel is back. The problem is that she is back in a pageant (Rio de Janeiro Universe) who she accused of "corruption" in 2012. She and others who lost the pageant in this year, made protest on the streets, against the coordinator. For me is a shameful situation for Isabel
The protest in 2012

Re: Isabel Correa - a historical Brazilian contestant
Glad to see her trying again.
She deserves the chance to be in a big international competition, to be honest I would love to see her in MU.
But I guess we all know that this will not happen because in Brazil black girls almost never win, there was only had ONE HALF black Miss Brazil, right??

She was in 2 top models pageants and did not won; was 2 times also in the Universe version and 2 times in the World version and lost all (now is the 3rd time on the Universe version). So, I think there is more that be or not a black girl. The Brazilian coordinators gave her a lot of chances. Two years ago she accused the coordinator of Miss Rio de Janeiro (state) to sell the crown. And now? Yes, she is there. In Brazil a lot os people accused Isabel to be unethical.
She lost again
Her last pageant was past Saturday (Miss Rio de Janeiro Univ) and she placed out the Top 5. She won the Photogenic prize and her body was not good, so a lot think that was this time the x factor.
