This photo was published on 9^th July, eleven days before the final night. Sara Tal, 22-year-old Israeli student who is Miss Israel, arrived at Idlewild Airport to compete in the Miss Universe contest. Miss Tal, a tall brunette, is a political science student at the University of Tel Aviv. She served in the Pioneer Fighting Youth as a border patrol guard. She wore desert clothes of white cotton, including a coat, blouse, skirt and hat. She displayed hand-made Israeli Jewelry and said that it was her ambition to return to Israel to work for the government as an aid to immigrants. She was born in Poland and lived in Israel most of her life.
