French Polynesia will debut this year miss universe?

Tahiti will be returning to Miss Universe after 24 years under the name French Polynesia. The territory had previously sent delegates under the name Tahiti, though Tahiti is only one island in French Polynesia. A new pageant, Miss French Polynesia, has been created to send contestants to Miss Universe and Miss World, in contrast with the traditional Miss Tahiti Nui, whose winner is sent to Miss France and whose runner-up is sent to Miss Earth.

Great news, this country's culture is very very different from french culture they deserve to represent their country and not colonial france!
