Nice pictures of the parents and friends cheering for their girls! A few thoughts about the preliminaries:
- The front runners (Thailand, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Domincan Republic) performed reasonably well. The standout among them was Nicaragua, both performance wise and because she received the loudest cheering.
- Contenders I found underwhelming: Peru, France, Canada, Zimbabwe and Great Britain, nevertheless I think 2 or 3 of them will be saved by their interview. Bahrain was definitely over the top in swimsuit, but I think she's safely in because of her interview.
- Biggest positive surprises performance wise: Bolivia, Brazil, Cameroon, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama and Portugal. I can see at least 2 or 3 of them be called on Saturday.
- Argentina ate. She's the kind of delegate we usually expect Colombia or Venezuela to send (she's Colombian btw)

- Angola, Guatemala, Honduras and Pakistan were classy, charming and pleasant to watch
- I would love to see all Central American ladies in the semis because they were all great. I don't know if we have ever seen such a high level of competitivity from this area before!
- Venezuela performed strongly as expected, but I just don't feel her

Great review. I am about to watch the full show now.

I've seen many performers before but still they did not make cut. Sometimes we just never know.

I would love to see Nicaragua, Costa Rica from Central America. Also, Honduras was actually a pleasant surprise. El Salvador is expected to be there.

Yes, Venezuela did very well and so Mariam Habach, El Tocuyo Venezuela!
