she will definately do good in Miss Earth,wait and see. and she has potential of improving alot. Basically hair up -i think- aint her thing at all. She lloked waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better with the hair down and wild.

I agree with Mr T, her hair up is terrible femina has an unhealthy obsession with bun-hair style, But i see her craking the 10 maybe top 4 with good styling. namaste!

initially i felt harshita would have been a better choice, but then in ME the final round is very important and its possible that harshita would repeat amruta patki or pooja Chitgopekar. With Shriya, i think if she makes it to top 4, the crown is hers.

Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth 2009 Shriya Kishore celebrated her birthday earlier this month, on May 12, and now she’s headed to Chandigarh for a little more family time.
Her nana and nani are hosting a bash in her honour, and it’s not to celebrate her birthday, but to celebrate her pageant win.

All this bonding and catching up is because Shriya is preparing for the Miss Earth pageant, and will soon get very busy. But this Mumbai girl believes that two factors have helped her shape into a winner already – her boarding school experience, and her training in hospitality. “Boarding school was a life-changing experience. I changed nine boarding schools. I was also in a residential college, since my dad is in the army. So my adaptability and independence came at a very early age,” she says.

College for her was her training in hospitality, and she says that it’s “a skill of a lifetime”. “It teaches you to be strong. There are days when things are just not right, but before you go to bed, you have to make it your day, whether you like it or not,” she says. However, she’s quick to add that a career in hospitality is not what she’s looking at once the Miss Earth pageant is over. “The glamour world has a lot to offer,” she says.

On her recent Delhi visit, Shriya was feeling pretty ‘at home’, as she was back in that world of hospitality. We caught up with her at the Kaya Kalp spa at ITC Maurya. After the first spa in Agra was declared the world’s best city spa by Tatler magazine, the one in Delhi has been renovated and just been thrown open to the in-house guests.

And how is she preparing for the Miss Earth pageant, to be held later this year? “We have a panel that trains us in every aspect. Also, I met the right people at the right time. I met (former Miss Indias) Gul Panag and Yukta Mookhey, and Yukta’s mom Aruna Mookhey is helping me out. My mother is a classical dancer, and she’s helping me with stuff like the way I stand, my posture, etc.” The Times of India, 22.05.09
