My name is Melody Higa and I am your Miss Hawaii U.S. International 2024! I wanted to share a little about myself as I embark on this incredible reign. I was born and raised in Hawaii and graduated with a double major in Finance and International business from Creighton University. One of the most pivotal experiences in my life is when I studied abroad in South Korea and China. Through my studies, I gained a global perspective and interest in becoming an international leader.

Post graduation, I moved back to Hawaii and found myself immersed in a whole new world: pageantry. Through this community, I have discovered organizations that further my personal and professional interests in International Relations. I find myself motivated by the positive impact that cultural awareness and appreciation can have in our community. I was privileged to find an organization like Miss Hawaii U.S. International that perfectly aligns with my aspirations of promoting and building international relationships.

The Miss Hawaii U.S. International Organization has partnered with state, national and global organizations including Women Speaking Out (WSO), Girls Scouts of the USA and the United Nations. I have always dreamed of working alongside an organization that prioritizes the critical work of the United Nations’ efforts to promote international peace and security. I have dedicated my purpose to promoting sustainability, health and peace internationally. I cannot wait to share with you a few of the projects that I have been working on over the past year!!
