here are some hot asprinig models from brazil trying to shine in the fashion industry. take a look at these black beauties right here. i spoke with alessandra cardoso and she says when she goes to an industry they wont sign her because they say they already have a girl who looks like her on their. She says its hard to not be signed because she is black and they dont want to use girls like her. its so sad to see beauties like these wasted. some of them are signed with elite and have gotten a significant amount of work so i applaud them for it. i think this thread culd be agreat place to post models who dont have the average look. frankly these girls look alot more appealing then the girls that have been going to the pageants lately.  post whatever girls u want who dont have the same old look thats favored. this thread should get interesting

designers hire models that almost look the same for the sake of fluidity and congruence of the show. you won't get work much if you're not naomi or chanel iman. sad but true.

naiomi hasnt done much catwalk in a while i think she retired. i have seen gracie carvalho, emanuela de paula,arlenis sosa, sessilee lopez, liya kebede, yes chanel iman most def, but jourdan dunn as well booking major catwalk shows as well. but ive seen way more non colored european girls in shows that look very much the same. and some will only use on egirl of color. and asian models i think are the most under represented. i have a pic saved on my computer of an asin brazilian model i will post later

Tao Okamoto she has a great face u never really see any asian models in fashion mags or on runway. dont know why.

more of alesandra cardoso sadly since she resembles top models like tyra and neomie lenior she rarely gets work. and i just saw her in a rap video for a song called birthday sex. i definitely dont want her career to take a turn there she is way too pretty and classy looking to be a video hoe.




raica oliveira she is not as well know as she should be the first thing people seem to notice about her is her tan skin and great body.she has been modeling since 04 and hasdone campains for dior and has done sports illustrated and complex magazine's superhero blow up doll shoot. im suprised u never here about her with the top brazilian models.

yes im not trying to offend anyone but there are so many white girls who look the same and get to walk all these fashions shows when you'll see no more than 5 black girls or even of any color if your lucky on the runway. you only ever see the black girls getting print work and catalouges. and people dont realize how badly it affects these girls. they feel inferior and not as beautiful. i saw recent work from one of the girls i posted here( i wont say her name) and her skin color has changed dramatically from a caramel color to a more white choclately color. things that make u wonder

We have it in all races, latinos, blacks, asians, etc. It is a pity because our inside is the same not matter our ethnicity and our blood is the same color RED!!!

well said thoughts like that our the reason i came to this forum. when iwent on the other forum everytime u posted a black girl who was light skinned or just not from africa sometimes even the dark skin girls there was a handle ful of people who cried out she's white or mixed not black. i think if you feel good about yourself u should be able to claim whatever ethnicity of yours u are. i also dont agree with always favoring the light skin/ ight eyes girls its sad that in 2009 people stil lthink like its 1909


oh and here is another modelshe has been a swimsuit fav in rio fashion week lays silva. many people dont like the fact that she is so top heavy but the girl is beautiful

yes desi i just hate when some feel the need to discriminate against girls because of the way their nose looks or because they are curvy or as we see here because of there color. so many were upset isabel did nto get the crown she deserved and i hope she goes on to be stronger and it doesnt break her down like the girl i talked about earlier. the girl i mentioned from seeing her now and seeing her about two years ago i was shcoked she went from black to like almost white and i seriously doubt it had to do with living situations

Isabel was a top contender, I just hope that she does not give up trying for next year...Maybe MU..

heres two beauties from the 2007 SI swisuit shoot. ana paula shined then she was also in diddy's fragrance comercial. she looks best with dark hair though. not much on her at the moment she needs to go audition for VS with the other top black brazilians of the moment. daniela the other model is nice too but i dont see much of her either besides SI she is another swimsuit girl.

i hear ya but i think lately black men are having even more sucess over black women. for example p diddy used all black men for his menswear show and even though no one seesm to really like his womens line he uses only light skinned or white girls to promote it and his fragrances. and most of the time its just white women or asian women for his products

ive seen her before not my fav but she is very pretty. i saw her on BBC america when they tested to see how white she was and it came out to 70% she is proof u cant just call someone race by how light or dark the skin is
