Miss Bahamas Universe '99 - Glennis Knowles

The Lovely Glennis Knowles Hails from the Island of New Providence with roots in the Southern Bahamian Island of Long Island (it is also said that she is kin to Beyonce Knowles).....She was crowned Miss Bahamas 1998-99 earning her the right to represent The Commonwealth of the Bahamas at the Miss Universe Pageant held in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago in '99.

Standing 5ft 11 inches tall with light brown hair and beautiful Hazel eyes, Glennis represented her country well missing the top 10 by one placement. If there were a top 15 Miss Bahamas would have been called that night. To this date she holds the highest placement of any Bahamian woman that competed in Miss Universe.

But I think she belongs better in The Bahamas Forum, she is not Vintage at all...

THANKS!!!!....Desi and Lucky.....Glennis was actually working as a Police Officer up to the time of her coronation.....Boy she was the most hopeful placement ever....I had just graduated high school that year........and my friends and I voted for her everyday.....and we even held prayer sessions.....I was sooooooo saaaaadddd when her name wasn't called.....and upset that she missed by one placement.....I would have preferred to see her on stage over Miss Jamaica....or even Miss India who had one of the worst bodies I'd ever seen.....Glennis was really ROBBED BIG TIME....but I'm very proud of her....I got the chance to see her up close when she returned and I must have drooled all over her shoes (gross)....she thought I was soooo cute .....I am losing hope with the Miss Universe aspect for the Bahamas and I'm sad to say but I really don't care anymore so much so that I think Bahamas should just stop sending girls.

I am glad that she has succeded in life and that she is remembered, be always proud of your queen....
