Implants and Ethics in Pageants
Hi,
I am interested to hear opinions about breast implants (in particular) and other cosmetics surgeries in general. Do breast implants enhance or detract from a contestant's ability to place in beauty pageants? Are there pageants where they are explicitly banned from the competition? I decided to start this thread because I was looking at Livia Nepomuceno.

Re: Implants and Ethics in Pageants
Breast inplant and other plastic surgery is just normal here in pageant world.... but sometimes over big breast were rejected in the screening....
most who had a breast inplant are those transgender who compete in Pattaya Thailand and many Gay pageants in the Philippines
its just a matter of culture and respect...

Well obviously it is part of enhancing beauty. That of course is the intention of undergoing elective surgery. The question is if these surgeries do in fact achieve that goal? And yes it is a normal part of beauty pageant culture, but why is it normal? How did it become accepted? Why so in some countries more than others?
