I read that also bosnia withdraw :'(

France change the way to select the artist and the song. they create a comitee of selection who will be reunate at the begoinning of the years.

They also annoucned that Mireille Dumas and Cyril ferault will be the french co-host for the french channel.

Neither do i. Chiara would be an interesting choice, but i'm pretty she's not gonna get picked up as might be working on debut album after Sanremo's competition. Marco Mengoni's got such a beautiful voice, he's so talented.. wish my country sends him

It all depends on the songs they choose. I hope I will be able to watch San Remo 2013...

This year the overall formula changed, as all the contestants will present two songs and the most televoted one will be sung in the following days. There will not be eliminations through the 5 days of Sanremo too..Everything is going to get decided on the finale.

Thomas G: son will compose the Georgian entry for Malmö 2013. The question is how many "swedish" entries will participate in 2013?

Last year 10 songs had help from Sweden. All of them were in the final. 2011 Azerbaijani winner was all Sweden except the two main artists. I hate this. I think the other countries should try to win with own songwriters. Not with help from an another country. This is bad for Sweden. Why should our songwriters compete in MF with 3000 other songs when they get money to write a song to ESC for an another country??

EBU needs to do something about this..

I know, but it's sad. I'm sure Azerbaijan have own excellent songwriters that never get the chance in ESC because of money...especially last year in Baku I was disappointed that they didn't choose an azerbaijani song. I think they could shown real music from Azerbaijan. Now Georgia do the same. I really hope this will be the only year they take swedish help. EBU should do something about this. It's not good for the competition with a winner that is not from the winning country but from an another country. And I said Sweden lose on this too. Why should thes songwriters compete in MF against 3000 other songs when they get money to write the ESC entry for an another country?

I don't agree! The best Azerbaijani song is by Arash 2009. I also prefer 2011 winning song than the entry from 2008.

But I'm sure we haven't seen the best of Azerbaijan's music yet...

CYPRUS 2013-VALANDO TRYFONOS

The national broadcaster of Cyprus officially announces Valando Tryfonos (known also from Greek NF 2011 and Cyprus NF 2006) as the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest representative. She is a Greek–Cypriot singer who rose to fame after winning the first season of talent show Greek Idol in 2010. There is a chance the song for Malmoe will be composed by Michalis Hatzigiannis (Cyprus 1998)!
Valando was chosen after George Papadopoulos who was the first choice of Cyprus was unable to compeet due to his busy schedule!
