An interesting fact for those who remember, Wendy had hinted that she wanted Peter Minshall to design a winning national costume for Miss Universe. The legendary mas band leader had seen a picture of her during Carnival 1998 celebrations in this costume and said that there was no need to design a costume as she was already wearing a winning design. Peter Minshall was the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival Band Designer who was responsible for the majority of the costumes and much of the choreography seen during the 1996 Summer Olympics opening ceremony in Atlanta, USA.

Maggie's National Costume was called "The Spirit of Trinidad & Tobago, The rainbow that is real"
This costume was worn by National Junior Carnival 2005 Queen, Anna Marie Lee.

Miss Universe 2006 National Costume Information

Trinidad & Tobago's world famous carnival festival celebrates the creativity of theatrical costumes that parade on the streets to the indigenous Soca music.
This costume is called The Spotted Flambeau Butterfly and depicts one of the most popular butterflies that are seen almost everywhere around the islands.
Hand-Painted silk chiffon mounted on delicate and flexible rods onto a backpack molded to the portrayers body-a suit painted onto the body for likeness and then delicately, but heavily bejeweled at the neck and head with glass, crystal and jewels that mirror the shimmer of this elegant creature.

This irridescent blue and grey costume was modeled after T&T's humming bird.

Danielle as "The Humming Bird" placed 3rd in the 2004 Miss Universe National Costume Competition.

You are so right

Phenom I so agree with you Heidi is stunning! Every time I see her she looks naturally gorgeous and she stands out cause she's so tall. Another disappointment for me was Sasha Anton. She looks beautiful to this day! Beyond me how they did not place
