Greetings from the Rice Granary of the Philippines

Hello everyone! As my username suggests, I am from Nueva Ecija and my name is Jerry. Other close friends call me Jay or Je. Although I have been watching pageants ever since I could remember, my real interest in pageants started in 1988 when Thailand won as Miss Universe. I really thought she looked like my mom! No kidding...


From then on, no one can ever get me away from TV especially during Miss Universe telecasts. I would have my own notebook detailing all the scores given by the judges. During Miss U off-season, i got interested in other pageants, such as Bb. Pilipinas [i actually had a crush on Sarah Jane Paez and was really disappointed when she didn't place in Miss U... although I really thought her stance during the introduction and parade of nations was a bit awkward and funny],


Miss International [especially felt bad when I wasn't able to watch it when Lia Andanar competed], Mutya ng Pilipinas and the subsequent international pageant Miss Asia-Pacific [I can still remember snippets of how Lorna Legaspi competed and won the title].


I do hope I get to make new friends here. I wish to be able to interact with those who share my passion [read: objective analysis rather than fanaticism] with beauty pageants.
