Miss World 1986: Giselle La Ronde (Trinidad & Tobago)

Giselle Jeanne Marie La Ronde was born on November 6, 1963 in Port-Of-Spain Trinidad.

In 1986 at age 23 she went on to win the Miss World competition at the Albert Hall, London, England. She was the first Trinidadian to capture the coveted title. She was presented with the Chaconia Medal in Trinidad and Tobago and has had a BWIA airplane named in her honor.

After the pageant Giselle used her prize money (£30,000 ) to attend University and complete a double degree (Sociology and Communications) at the University of London. She practices Shotokan Karate in her spare time.

In 1993 Giselle married Heathcliff West. They have two sons. She presently works at the House of Angostora.
