Best and Worst of 2013 Pageantry

I thought it would be fun if we shared our best and worst moments of the 2013 pageant year. Feel free to post favorite contestants, gowns, moments along with moments you consider shocking. Who are your favorite winners, least favorite, favorite or least favorite national costume, catwalk, can't believe she or he won their national competion, etc. I am going to think about my choices and post them later!

Worst Winner of 2013: Venezuela Universe

Pageant in need of an overhaul: Miss World ( I wish it was more of a competition. It is very boring to watch, although the girls are very beautiful for the most part) and Miss Universe (it seems money talks at Miss Universe rather than it being a true competition. Also needs new stylists for the girls)

Countries I wish to see do well in 2014: Great Britain, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Poland, Croatia, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Spain, Kosovo. Brazil, Israel, Haiti, France, Turkey, Greece, and the countries represented by our dear forum members!
Countries I am tired of: Puerto Rico, Venezuela, USA

MU seems to promote an artificial kind of beauty! I think that in the future we will see misses that look more or less like the pic above!

I will pick only one... and no, it won't be Miss World Greece Athena Pikraki (allthough I think that nobody has ever or will ever choose a worse miss than her)!

Miss Universe

Best of MU:
-Great Britain, Indonesia and Ecuador placing..I wasn't expecting Ecuador to place but she did it and she became her country's highest placement, which is an amazing achievement
-Russia as a host
-Finally having a MU telecast at the local time of the host city/country and not in the middle of the night or morning just to accommodate US viewers
-Great batch of stunning contestants
-Steven Tyler performing

Worst of MU:
-Poland not placing despite being one of the most beautiful contestants...she reminded me of Ohio's Kristin Smith at Miss USA 2013 who was absolutely not a good performer but her face was too gorgeous to be ignored (Paulina performed better than Kristin in my opinion though)and hence she made the top10
-Israel, Italy, France and Turkey missing the cut despite being gorgeous and performing well
-Philippines making it way too far in the competition once again...top16 would have been more than enough
-Venezuela winning again (I don't mind Gabriela, but it would be nice to see other countries than Venezuela, USA and PR winning)
-Lack of Russian culture during the telecast

Miss World

Best of MW:
-The top5/6 was beyond gorgeous and I would have been happy with any of them as the winner
-Awesome batch of stunning contestants as usual
-Slovakia placing in the finals for the first time
-The abundance of display of Indonesian culture

Worst of MW:
-The lack of competition in the final show. I like the mini challenges leading to the grand final but there is definitely something they could do to make it more of a competition and more interesting to follow
-Only one African in the semis while there were some other stunning contestants from Africa that should have made it like Cote d'Ivoire and South Sudan among others
-Cyprus not making the cut despite being stunning and her country's best representative to the pageant ever
-USA,Canada and DR making the cut despite being plain

Miss International

Best of MI:
-Gibraltar, Lithuania and Hungary making the semis for the 1st time
-Netherlands placing this high and most likely ending her pageant career on a high note

Worst of MI:
-Philippines winning the whole thing despite being horsey and granny looking
-The lack of diversity in the semis
-Black contestants being ignored once again
-Overall, the pageant needs a big makeover to make it more relevant and a change in the jury panel to include people of different backgrounds than Japanese judges that always have similar taste would be more than welcome

Miss Earth

Best of ME:
-Venezuela winning the pageant.I've always liked Alyz and Im glad she made it big in ME
-Serbia returning to the semis with a stunning contestant
-Philippines only making the top8 and not advancing further unlike her past two fugly predecessors
-The diversity of the semifinalists including Austria, Mauritius and Turkey that placed for the first time

Worst of ME:
-The quality of the contestants is still questionable.On one hand, there are some stunners but on the other hand, there are also some beyond average and ugly contestants
-The production needs to be revamped and there are many areas where there is room for some improvement

Miss Supranational

Best of MS:
-Philippines winning the title
-The great batch of semifinalists that all deserve to make the semis
-US Virgin Islands making the top5
-Gabon placing for the first time ever in the semifinals of any pageant
-Luxembourg returning to the semifinals of a pageant since the 1990s

Worst of MS:
-Can't really pick one but I do think they could improve on the production.The production is good but sometimes it feels too rushed and the girls don't have enough time when they compete, so I would work on that if I were them.

Miss Spain Univ was choosed the Best Face in my blog. Miss Brazi Univ was the Best Body. I realy loved the two choices.

Best and worst per pageant

Miss Universe:
best
-Indonesia, great Britain , Dominican Republic , Spain, China, placing
 -Mis  Russia prelim performanc in gown and Peru in swimsuit
-Giulana Rancic  as host ( male host was great but I prefer Andy Cohell)

Worst:
-Bolivia, Croatia , France and Poland out of the 16
-Nicaragua and Switzerland in 
-Russia as host : not because it's RUsisa because I think it was a great host but just because Kosovo, Georgia and Albania withdraw
-economic and political choices

Miss World
best:
-Indonesia as host
-France placing in the top 6 and winning 1st runner-up title
-great production
-awesome stage
worst:
well this see I don't see major worst point

Miss International
best:
- Good top 15 in the majority
- Japan as host
- good stage

worst:
-Winner
- gabon out

Miss Earth
best:
-generally  good top 16 
-France and Serbia in
worst:
-bad production
-better girl than the winner as clapper or stoped before the crowning moment.

Miss Suprantional
best: 
- good level of beauty
- winner was desevering
- good producction and great stage
- Luxembur and Gabon in
worst:
-Brazil out of the 5

Best: Another pageant was born with 75 participants

Im just watching this today as i was busy last year.. the show was nice
