Very refreshing win indeed; the MUO just redeemed itself from consistently crowning a girl fluent in English and from the same handful of strong sash countries ever since IMG took over, and that's hard to believe!

OK guys, it was great to read your comments and opinions while watching the show! (although I had to constantly search for new livestreams because they were being closed one after another) I hope to become a regular part of your community during Miss Universe season, and I wish you goodnight / a nice day (depending on where you are) because it's past 5am here and I'm going to bed now!

Yes! It's a punishment for wasting Veena 3 times just because she is Indian

Anntonia is more beautiful than Sheynnis but her performances were just fine. Safe choice for evening gown, lack energy.
Sheynnis rocked the stage, got really great answers so she is very deserving.

Last time (in recent years) that a NEW country won its 1st Miss Universe crown was in:

2003 - Amelia Vega from Dominican Republic.
2011 - Leila Lopes from Angola

NOW........12 YEAR LATER, we have NICARAGUA joining those ranks with their 1st winner in MU History -113etg--

Really happy for her win!!!!!!

Congratulations to Sheynnis Palacios....very worthy winner. I predicted top 3 and am especially so happy for Australia...as a Greek/Australian I am so proud of her and how amazing and well she represented our country..(lord knows I cant have any expectations of Greece any more...at least in my lifetime). To all those crying about Phillipines missing out (whats new) and that Australia shouldn't have taken her spot...start being a bit gracious....you cant win or get top 3 every year. I think if was the most refreshing top 3 in ages...just love that a non sash factor country won..and deservedly so. R'Bonney for me was the most forgettable Miss Universe in quite a while so looking forward to Nicaragua's reign over the next year. Congrats to the top 3 again...you did your country's proud!!!!

I am very happy for the placement of Cameroon, Chile, Namibia and Pakistan.

And I'm sad for Germany, Lebanon, Poland, Russia and Slovak Republic those girls are beautiful.

I have been seeing some people on social media posting comments about Miss INDIA........They are saying she has a bad attitude & rumors that she was pushy/being a mean girl toward other candidates??????

IF these are more than just rumors......IS THAT WHY she did NOT advance further in the competition???????
She was 1 of the BEST performers in the competition & decent with interviews so what went wrong???
I was hoping for her to get a TOP 5 placement along with South Africa (another strong contender).

As someone mentioned RUSSIA, I absolutely LOVE this woman.
She's pretty & I though her performance on stage was CUTE. She looked like she had fun.
POLAND & ICELAND are beautiful blondes but unfortunately their performances on stage was not enough to get them further.

Miss Nicaragua won Miss Universe 2023 the moment she arrive in El Salvador. I'm so excited for her reign. I had her as my predicted winner! Congrats.

The main pageant in the Grand slam finisehd with some curious thoughts that will be in history.

Nicaragua won its FIRST crown
El Salvador make de the cut to the TOP10 for the FIRST time
Camerún make the cut to the TOP20 for the FIRST time
Portugal had the FIRST woman transgender to make the cut to the TOP20
Nepal made the cut to the semifinalist for the second time but it's the FIRST plus size woman to make the cut
Pakistán had the FIRST participation on the pageant and made the cut to the semifinalists
USA is the country with the FIRST place on clasifications with more places to the semifinalists with 67
Colombia is the FIRST married woman and mother. She has a daughter. Also was in the TOP5
Thailand is the FIRST winner of a GS pageant wich is TOP2 in Miss Universe
España is the FIRST color woman to represent her country and she was TOP10
Zimbabwe is the FIRST white woman to represent her country
Mental Health it was the main topic which delegates brang to the pageant

I think that the pageant will begin to give places to countries that are not on the map and will seek to give more inclusion to countries that have only made the cut because of the sash and they didn't deserved. We'll see in the following editions in order to know what will happens.

In the meantime, congratulations to Nicaragua, Sheynnis and its people for such a well-deserved crown.
