Miss Utah, Charlotte Sheffield (right), who stepped into the Miss U.S.A. 1957 role Friday when Leona Gage of Maryland was disqualified for being married, belatedly receives her crwon and trophy at the Miss Universe pageant Friday night from Carol Morris (left), last year’s Miss Universe. Pageant officials ruled Miss Sheffield could not compete in Friday night’s final judging since she missed the preliminaries Thursday night.
