Miss Bahamas Universe 2009

Last April 4, the Miss Bahamas Universe 2009 delegates were presented to the local press at the British Colonial Hilton Hotel in Nassau.

The finals is on May 24 at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island.

Winner will represent the Bahamas in Miss Universe 2009 to be held on the same venue on August 23.

the one standing out for me in the pics Miss Crooked(?-im not sure i see it right) island.Also another 2-3 seem very interisting but i cant identify the region they represent. Maybe blackmagic,will give us more info soon.

Overall, a bit disappointed by this bunch of candidates. One would think that since the Bahamas are hosting MU, the organization would work harder and harder to get amazing candidates. Some are interesting tho. I like the girl wearing the Miss Par....something sash. She's cute...and some other misses are cute as well. Needs some styling tho. Best of luck to the delegates and who ever wins, Im sure she'll be a great rep in MU.

certainly this bunch is ugly - straight up! there is one exception and that is camille kenny - miss crooked island...she is being groomed for the crown pretty much...the rest of the candidates are just fillers to have a pageant...what i DONT get is why bother with a pageant? why not a private screening and then a selection? oh, i forgot the miss bahamas crown is up for the highest bidder...thats why the quality girls never enter.... in any event guys, there are few late entrants flying in to the bahamas from overseas...a few of whom are professional models...as it stands, the forerunner is miss kenny who was first runner up to the lovely anya watkins who represented us at miss world in 2007...im getting reliable photos and info to you guys soon as to the progress

of course it can, make up lessons and a good personal makeup artist following her could help her alot.she has lots of nice potential.

A terrible Bunch but if they train well and all that then they have shot at the top 15 its rude to exclude the host country rep haha!

Hey Guys....Saw the girls last night on the news....the bunch overall is not the best (although it is a vast improvement over last year's which was downright AWFUL), however two girls stood out last night. The lovely Camille Kenny and Jade Strachan (who's picture is not posted here as yet)....She is one of the contestants that has just arrived from abroad (I believe she's a University Student in either the US or Canada, not sure yet)....She is facially more beautiful than Camille, and the Camera man kept zooming in on her last night. Her body seems to be in good shape but I'm awaiting Candids before I make my final judgements. It was also brought to my attention that she is 5ft 11 - 1.80m tall without heels. Once I get more info on her I will share it, but from what I saw of her last night on Television....this girl is gorgeous. All of the contestants haven't been featured yet...there are still girls in transit as we speak who are finishing their exams at their respective universities aborad. Hopefully within the coming week all 22 of the contestants will be featured and we can see who the true stunners and true queens are. Also, the MBU organization is working along with the Ministry of Tourism. They are hiring professional pageant trainers to work with each girl and the winner will be sent to New York for further training in public speaking, world affairs, hosting, runway modelling and grooming of course. With all of this that they are doing I do hope that they choose a girl that HAS it together....BECAUSE IF THEY CHOOSE AN UNDERSERVING GIRL....THEN I AM THE FIRST TO SAY....LET HER STAY CLAPPING!!!!!

Kennedy once said “ Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” This is the exact question a beauty ambassador (like me) would ask. What can I do for The Commonwealth of The Bahamas? My answer is simply to represent my country as Patriotic Ambassador of beauty, intelligence and elegance. Remembering that as a beauty ambassador for my country, there is no ‘I’ in the job description or subject line, but a ‘We’- because I am representing the face of every Bahamian woman from every island of this great country. To show the world that Bahamian Women are among the world’s most beautiful and intelligent beings. Also, to portray my leadership qualities at all times-humility, confidence, determination, character, morals, courage, outgoingness, outspoken, experience and most of all my warm smile. Being Miss Bahamas Universe has always been my passion, heart’s desire, my dream…something that I eat, sleep, breathe, and prayed for. Should I be crown queen, I would use this opportunity to inspire the lives of young people especially those of the Bahamas. I feel that by reaching out to the youth and assisting them to reach their full potential will direct the future of the Bahamas and world forward. I would like to encourage young perosons to further their education so that they will be equipped to compete on an international level. I advise them to find and pursue their passion.
