Road to Miss Universe Italy 2012

Elisa Torrini,Miss Universe Italy 2011,will crown her successor next Spring/Summer in a location to be determined. Winner will be representing Italy at Miss Universe 2012.

The first Regional Finale for Miss Universe Italy 2012 happened in Sardegna where 3 winners were crowned and will directly advance to MU Italy's finals.

Overall Winner was 19 years old Laura Piras,from Quartu.

First runner up was Marta Olla,18 years old from Quartu.

Second runner up was Ludovica Soru,22 years old from Oristano.

This pageant's status is TOTALLY dead. Miss World Italy is so full of regional competitions and this one still nothing,any casting,if not the last one happened,believe me,in September 2011. Every year the same story,with the organization waking up in May and choosing fastly average contestans. So sad,i don't wonder why Italy has been represented by "not so pretty" delegates.

May someone let seriously grow this pageant!

girls might prefer competing for Miss World???

Well,yes. Younger girls prefer to join Miss Mondo Italia,since rules allow them to compete. Anyway,most beautiful and successful girls and models prefer to join Miss Italia,our wonderful pageant! Miss Universe Italy is absolutely unknown.

Marta is great my fav for the moment. that's so bad that they don't take seriously the contest.? italy have really beautifull woman.

Well,yes. Younger girls prefer to join Miss Mondo Italia,since rules allow them to compete. Anyway,most beautiful and successful girls and models prefer to join Miss Italia,our wonderful pageant! Miss Universe Italy is absolutely unknown.

I think its because Italy never won in MU, and rare to enter he semis??? like the Philippines in Miss World we dont have yet a crown so Miss World is nothing to us.... Miss Universe still important

Nono,it doesn't work this way in Italy. Girls,most of times,don't join a contest because,for example,they would like to go to MW or MU! They simply join it,..they actually don't feel this pressure to win because they've to represent us internationally.. At first Miss Universe was quite popular because the former Miss Italia went on compete to it,but now..with these dead franchises nobody cares..

Nono,it doesn't work this way in Italy. Girls,most of times,don't join a contest because,for example,they would like to go to MW or MU! They simply join it,..they actually don't feel this pressure to win because they've to represent us internationally.. A pity. Maybe they should turn the franchise over to a modelling agency who appoints a delegate. It worked for Jennifer Hawkins and the last young lady from the USA who won Miss World.

If I were in charge, I would appoint Marta Olla.

The org. will start organizing castings and selections,but it's too late. It's insane they stop for half year and then make everything fastly... choosing,at the end,an AVERAGE winner (the worst delegates Italy EVER sent to MU,Jessica Cecchini and Elisa Torrini) Oh well..

That is sad as there are many beautiful Italian ladies who could easily win. I wish I could take over the pageant in Italy! I would work my butt off to make sure the right girl was chosen!
