Road to Miss Finland 2012

Miss Finland 2012 will be held January 29th, 2012

The semifinals will be held next week, on January 10th and 11th.

On Wednesday, January 11th at 13.00 a pressconference will be held where they introduce the 10 finalist.
Straight after the finalists will be heading for the Miss Finland 2012 tour that will end in Hämeelinna on 29.1. when the new Miss Finland will be crowned.


Sara Sieppi, (right) who took over the title of Miss Finland 2011 after Pia Pakarinen (middle) gave up the title in September,
will crown the new Miss Finland 2012!

Viivi Suominen, who was a finalist in 2010, is one of the girls who'll be trying out for a place in the final again this year

Miss Finland is just in 2 weeks???


Bb Pilipinas pageant is more than 3 months before the final night....

A very even year! No clear standouts for me, but overall, the standard is much better than I expected

I think there are 8 girls who could take the title. I'm not counting the remaining 2 out as runners up. Also, unlike last year, when we had great faces, this year I think the judges really went for body and personality rather than facial beauty. Even the ones who could improve are already very fit.

As for my personal favorites - it's really hard to choose! I think Sabina could make some favorite lists in International competitions, she is the "showiest one". Viivi would no doubt be an excellent Miss Suomi, working a lot, but I don't think she'd make much impact abroad. Somehow, I feel Anna has most potential to have a stunning transformation. Laura would need a makeover too, she has probably the best face out there, right now obscured by those brows. Jonna gives this serene vibe, while Sara started slightly timid, but now has shown a vibrant personality. Anni is telegenic rather than photogenic - a bit like Miss Finland 2007, Noora Hautakangas, who people compare her to quite a bit (Noora is taller, Anni has a tiny little Scarlett O'Hara waist).

My sentimental fave, though, must be Krista. Love her athletic credentials and figure (perfect abs, if you ask me!), and although not classically pretty, she has such a beautiful aura in her TV interviews. Kind of reminds me of Reese Whitherspoon. This is a young lady you want to listen to!
