Although Miss Trinidad and Tobago/Universe Avionne Mark did not make it to the semifinal round of the 2012 International Miss Universe Pageant on Wednesday in Las Vegas, USA, she may be returning home with something more valuable than a crown.
Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe Organisation, on Wednesday told Mark and Dean Ackin, owner of the pageant's local franchise and founder of Tribe mas band, that one of the best Miss Universe shows ever was the one held here in 1999 at the Heliport in Chaguaramas, and he would like to host another pageant in Trinidad.
"Avionne and I met with Donald Trump tonight (Wednesday) and he mentioned that one of the best Miss Universe shows was held in Trinidad years ago. He said he liked Trinidad and Tobago Carnival and would like to bring the show back soon. Mr Trump envisages the use of Carnival costumes as part of the show, which is televised to 190 countries and viewed by a billion people. So this will be great exposure for tourism in Trinidad and Tobago if this were to actually happen," Ackin said.
Ackin said Trump asked him to meet with Paula Shuggart, president of the Miss Universe Organisation, to begin exploring the possibilities of bringing the show here in the near future. Ackin said that Mark was at first disappointed that she did not advance to the final, but is now taking it all in stride. He said he is very proud of her and he knows that from this experience Mark will move on to great success, which is why he took over the franchise in the first place—to provide another platform for young women to develop the confidence to pursue their dreams.
"Avionne was understandably a bit disappointed initially, but she is in good spirits now. With her spirited Trini personality, she made a great impression on all her fellow contestants and was also much liked by all the Miss Universe staff she met. They all know her by name and she represented our country as an ambassador very well. We at the Miss Trinidad and Tobago Organisation are very proud of her, and we know that many career opportunities will come her way, especially in the tourism industry, which is her passion," Ackin said.

The MUO (Paula Schgart e Shawn McClain) was in Brazil for a trip in Fortaleza. Brazil will, probably, host the pageant again in 2014.

Yesterday Venezuelan farandulero Pump program , made an important announcement : Venezuela would be choosing to host Miss Universe 2014 , they said the Venezuelan government , in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Interior and Justice, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of culture, made an application to the World Intellectual Beauty, swift , and it seems that if you perform , because they say Venezuela is the only country that until now is as official candidate to host . In fact , they reported the same phone yesterday with Harry Levy Assistant to the President of the Miss Venezuela Organization , and said that when he traveled to Russia, Miss Universe 2013 , had the opportunity to speak to a senior officer of the Organization Miss universe , and according to him said that Brazil will not be the host , because in addition to host two years ago, the country is busy with the World Cup 2014 and Olympic Games 2016, also informed him that Donald Trump for several years , is interested in that Venezuela will host this international event .

I just asked Paulina (Miss Colombia Universe) if its true that it will be held in Brazil, I've heard rumors all over the Internet saying its 100% confirmed so I think it's probably true and will be confirmed within the next few days.

A journalist confirmed tha the Secretary of Tourism of Ceará (state), Brazil, said Brazil will host the MU 2014. Fortaleza (capital of Ceará) will be the host-city.

On the doc, Annette Cammer (Is the Director of International Pageants. She has been with the company since 1986) is saying "no", Brazil will not be the host country.
PS: The declarations of the Secretary was ever unnoficial, only released by the press. New infos, at the same time, show that the Miss Brazil Univ director said that "there was interest, but not negotiations".
Remember: months ago, Paula Shugart and other of the MUO visited the Ceará.

Honestly I'm ok with LV as a host! Just don't want it again in December or November. LV at least is better than Russia, Indonesia or other muslim/intolerant countries.

Ha, I am ok with LV too. I go there all the time and it is a great city, lots of fun. I think Trinidad and Tobago would be a good host this year. Other places I would love: England, Italy, Germany, Hawaii, New York, Australia, Japan.

Ha, I am ok with LV too. I go there all the time and it is a great city, lots of fun. I think Trinidad and Tobago would be a good host this year. Other places I would love: England, Italy, Germany, Hawaii, New York, Australia, Japan.
Please no Japan, after last 2 editions of MI in Japan, I'm very afraid of choices making there
