My pre-arrival favorites for Miss World 2024:
Possible winner: Czech Republic or Trinidad and Tobago
Strong competitors: UK, Phillipines, Colombia, India (top 12/5, host)

At present, I think the crown is between Czech Republic and Trinidad and Tobago and that with politics will play a role meaning Czech Republic is my current top pick with Ache in 2nd! If it was just based on interview Ache would be my to pre-arrival pick for MW but I think with the new co-owner and need to satisfy sponsors Czech Republic has the current edge. This is just pre-arrivals. Things will be more clear when we start to see the unedited photos of group shots in India.

National Costume (worn during the opening cermony of Miss World 2023 in Mubai, India)

SORRY to be negative eh but that National Costume is DISAPPOINTING............You mean after ALMOST 1 & 1/2 YEARS OF ACHE'S REIGN, this was the best that costume designer could come up with? 


For a country that LOVES to boast about its Carnival, labelling ours as the MECCA of Carnival/ Greatest show on earth ETC.............Many of our costume designers either LACK creativity OR are LAZY OR delusional about what they deem as ART.  


If I did not read the description of this costume, I'd have NEVER known this is supposed to be inspired by a FANCY Sailor costume.
AN OVERSIZED HAT THAT LOOKS COSQUELLE, A SWIMSUIT WITH BEADS, FEATHERS & DULL IN COLOUR  :sleep:HOW CREATIVE. 
ACHE DESERVED BETTER. 


I really hope Julia Morley is NOT taking these national costumes into account for anything.


If they were going that route WITH SAILOR MAS, then a costume similar to what Anya Ayoung Chee wore @ Miss Universe 2008 makes MORE SENSE.

I actually think they understood the assignment  - initially, I did not like the costume based on the pics but when I saw the vid for what it's intended prupose was, I have to give the MWTT team their props - especially the person who came up with that feathered train - it was not a costume competition, it was for introductions. Ache looked beautiful and her introduction was tasteful and respectful of the India public. 

The photos don't capture the beauty of that train. It went from forgettable to 'I love it'. It was tastefully done! Kudos to Charu and team!

...and from what I gather, it is interviews and possibly BWAP which are used to choose the finalists and winner.
