I am so proud of our girl Ache! She spoke well at the H2H challenge. Unfortunately she is not in the top 5. Ache is only English-Speaking Caribbean delegate in the top 25 of the H2H challenge. PR is the only other Caribbean island in the top 25.

My updated faves - 23rd Feb 2024
Potential Winner: UK, Trinidad and Tobago
Other Crown Contenders: Czech Republic, Turkey - however, at the present moment I would not miss either if they were not in the final 5.
Queen of the Caribbean: Trinidad and Tobago
Queen of Americas: Canada is in the running
Queen of Asia and Oceania: India
Queen of Africa: Botswana
Queen of Europe: UK
Strong competitors: Botswana, Canada, Colombia, Cote d'Ivoire, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, India, Peru, Spain, Turkey.
Currently Ache is locked in as a solid top 3 for me and I still think she can win, but it is a very competitve year. Botswana is like the happiest contestant - I love her!
Predictions:
Winner: UK
1st RU: Trinidad and Tobago
2nd RU: Botswana

I actually think they understood the assignment - initially, I did not like the costume based on the pics but when I saw the vid for what it's intended prupose was, I have to give the MWTT team their props - especially the person who came up with that feathered train - it was not a costume competition, it was for introductions. Ache looked beautiful and her introduction was tasteful and respectful of the India public.
The photos don't capture the beauty of that train. It went from forgettable to 'I love it'. It was tastefully done! Kudos to Charu and team!
...and from what I gather, it is interviews and possibly BWAP which are used to choose the finalists and winner.
You're welcome. I really miss the days when we all gathered together on these pageant forums.
With IG, FB, TikTok etc. is does not feel the same.
I dunno. I saw it in motion and was disappointed & the colour IMO didn't stand out. I guess it's a 50/50. Either you love it or hate it??
I really hope she impresses Julia with her BWAP presentation & back door interview.

Since her arrival in India, I went from feeling very excited, hyped/confident...........to nervous/ slightly pessimistic after the HEAD TO HEAD Challenge
She spoke well but she both looked & sounded nervous..........I hope that this does not affect her chances of getting close to the crown.
She has confidence but having made it this far, I'm starting to wonder if the 'nerves' are creeping in.
Ache is the best delegate we've had in yearssss........so much so that many Trinbagonians who never used to follow pageants or those who lost interest.....started gaining interest after Ache was crowned.
That says a LOT about how much hope she instilled in many of our citizens.
She needs to display that fearless type of spirit that Gabrielle Walcott, Sarah Jane & Tya Jane to name a few had when they competed.
As for the eventual winner...........I'll never understand how Julia Morley makes her final decision & I know she does not favour us the way she does Jamaica & India for EG. Then there are times her eventual winner is one that most did not expect..........But I'm hoping that after almost 4 DECADES, T&T could have that 2nd opportunity/crown.

I totally understand how you feel. However, I still feel Ache could win...but she is going to have stiff competition. Additionally, I agree with you - I am not sure what Mrs Morley is looking for this year....for all you know they could give a suprise win to Botswana....but she reads more like her professional than a beauty ambassador.Kimberly wrote:Frank Speech wrote:I am so proud of our girl Ache! UPDATED FAVES:

I actually liked Botswana and started following her FB page before she placed in anything - she is always smiling and she posts pics of herself with many of the other delegates.I don't see her outside the top 2 for the actual final.

"The Voice of the Tiger"
by Aché Abrahams
Miss World Trinidad and Tobago - Raising awareness for the Tadoba Tigers
There once was a world where the animals ran free, hunting and playing and filled with glee!
In forests deep where the trees sway,
The tigers roam, but the majestic roars say
Danger lurks, our numbers wane.
My cubs and partners are poached every day.
Our beautiful fur is used for style.
Something that changes from time to time.
Our homes dismantled, burnt and chopped.
Has Mother Nature ran out of luck?
Pushed out of our humble abode, but no one else seems to know where we can go.
When we're seem amongst humans, we're met with threats.
For their safety, but our needs are never met!
We are owed this world, just as much as you,
I don't want to spend my life locked in a zoo!
I want to be free, to run, and to play.
Under the stars is where I want to lay.
All of this for what?
For greed of mankind?
The true predators, not me and my kind!
Our roars were once heard,
Echoing through the trees.
But now, I don't know where to find my family.
I am a tiger, a symbol of strength.
But it takes courage to say that I need help.
Because I need you to save me and my friends.
I promise we can share this world,
Together till the end.
Come join our pack. Our beautiful streak.
Because there's no difference between you and me.
The only way forward is to coexist.
So, my friends, I beg you, we must persist.
Thank you, Tadoba, for all your work.
Because now I have over 5000 brothers and sisters playing in your reserve.
But I beg each of you listening here today to be part of this oath.
And let's all live another day.
Thank you.

For me, curently the crown is between England and Ache. England is the current front-runner for the title in my opinion.
Botswana will be top 3.
